The Opportunity

Williams International is seeking a Contracts Manager to join our team in Pontiac, Michigan.

The Contracts Manager is responsible for developing, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating government contract language, non-disclosure agreements, and terms and conditions (including FAR/DFAR flow downs) to meet company business objectives. The individual will work closely with Program Management, Engineering, Business Development and Supply Chain teams on highly visible DoD contracts for complex development, production, and sustainment programs, primarily as a major subcontractor and occasionally as a prime contractor. Expectation is to develop departmental expertise in contracts-related professional methods, provide subject matter expertise, and coaching for team members.

Additionally, the Contracts Manager will:

  • Responsible for developing, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating DoD contract language for complex development, production, and sustainment programs, primarily as a major subcontractor and occasionally as a prime contractor.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to Programs on company policy, procedures, and defense procurement laws and regulations.
  • Participates in cross-functional proposal teams to assess contract solicitations including clauses, and recommended terms & conditions.
  • Supports proposal preparation, submittal, and negotiation along with subsequent execution of contract and contract modifications.
  • Drafts and reviews non-disclosure agreements and formal customer correspondence on contractual matters.
  • Advise the organization on any challenges to compliance, or risks to negotiation of favorable terms, billing arrangements, contract type or fee.
  • Responsible for creating and preparing briefing packages and presenting to senior leadership.
  • Provides guidance and mentorship to fellow colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Liberal Arts, or Engineering. MBA or law degree is desirable.
  • Work involves practical job knowledge and skill gained with at least ten years of prior, related work experience.
  • Must be knowledgeable in the FAR and DFARS, with experience relating to reading, interpreting, and writing contractual language, correspondence, and other documents.
  • Prior experience with Government contracting and procurement/acquisition across multiple contract types is strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Must be willing to work onsite (hybrid and work from home is not available).
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed.
