Assessment Coordinator – Division of Access and Engagement

The Division of Access and Engagement (DAE) invites applications for the position of Assessment Coordinator. Under the leadership of the Executive Director for Assessment and Evaluation, this entry-level position will support the day-to-day operations of the Office of Assessment, Culture, and Education (ACE) by gathering pertinent data and evidence to determine the efficacy of the Division’s efforts to contribute to divisional and institutional goals in meaningful ways. As a key member of the Office of Assessment, Culture, and Education (ACE), this professional will work with all the offices within the Division to gather and analyze data that will ultimately inform the direction of initiatives and programs, as well as provide guidance to DAE leadership on how best to support students, staff, and faculty. More specifically, this professional will work with DAE’s various offices to identify key priorities, develop divisional outcomes, and create a process for assessing those outcomes on an annual basis.


Qualifications :

Responsibilities

· Review, analyze, and recommend best practices for divisional assessment forms and surveys.

· Guide DAE staff in defining measurable program outcomes and learning outcomes, identifying assessment needs, and creating and managing assessment plans.

· Prepare and disseminate assessment findings in a timely manner to division leadership and staff upon request.

· Assist with creating reports and presentations related to the impact of DAE programs, services, and events on the experiences of diverse populations on campus.

· Ensure inclusive and equitable assessment practices including but not limited to providing context-specific approaches and responses to data collection, interpretation, and application; disaggregation of data; and meaningfully engaging divisional staff throughout the assessment process.

· Assist with analysis, interpretation, and reporting of assessment findings.

· Assist with assessment instrument and method development and facilitation (e.g., surveys, focus groups, SWOC analysis, etc.) for division-level projects.

· Work with the DAE Assessment Team to implement annual assessment training for division staff.

· Interpret and disseminate available data from professional literature, national data banks, institutional effectiveness research specific to assigned projects.

· Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Required Qualifications:



Bachelor's in Education, Social Sciences, Public Policy, Statistics, Evaluation, Assessment, Educational Psychology, or closely related field.

The candidate’s degree must incorporate assessment methodologies and a minimum of two (2) years of professional assessment experience. They must also exhibit the following skills and abilities:

· An ability to work with diverse populations.

· Knowledge of equity centered assessment practices.

· An ability to balance multiple work responsibilities in time-sensitive situations.

· Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.

· Ability to properly handle confidential data and to use SPSS and other analytical software for data analysis

· Ability to work creatively, collaboratively, and professionally in an interdisciplinary university environment

· Strong ability to take initiative, work independently and manage multiple projects.

· Knowledge of current qualitative and quantitative techniques for collecting, analyzing and reporting data.

· Team development skills.

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

· A commitment to professional development and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree and at least three (3) years of professional evaluation and assessment experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion. Applicants' experience should also demonstrate:

· Evidence of the ability to effectively assess educational programs and initiatives.

· High level of effectiveness in strategic planning of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

· High level of knowledge in the use of data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, etc.)

Salary

The salary for this position is commensurate with experience and other qualifications and is accompanied by a standard university benefits package. This is an exempt, 12-month, full-time, staff position.
