Med-Radiation Oncology - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (23005839)

A Postdoctoral Associate position in Radiation Oncology is available in the laboratories of Drs. Joel Greenberger and Michael Epperly at the University of Pittsburgh, Department of Radiation Oncology, and UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. This position is available for highly motivated candidates under the direct supervision of a Faculty Scientist working on a variety of projects dealing with the acute and chronic effects of ionizing irradiation on small animals. Funding for this position is expected to be available for 2 years.

Projects may include:

Protective role of genetically engineered (second-generation) probiotics delivering IL-22, IFN-ß, and other gene products.

Role of Senescent cells in cancer and other diseases.

The radiobiology of Fanconi Anemia mice with DNA repair defects.

Role of novel tyrosine kinases in the mechanism of radiation pulmonary fibrosis in mouse models.

Requirements:

The candidate must have a recently awarded Ph.D. degree, M.D. degree, or equivalent in the field of Molecular and Cellular Biology, Biochemistry, Biology, Genetics, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmacology, or related specialty.
