Veterinarians throughout the Midwest refer animal clients to theVeterinary Health Centerfor specialized diagnoses and treatment. With sophisticated therapeutic equipment that includes an underwater treadmill, advanced imaging techniques, and groundbreaking equine lameness diagnostic equipment, we are a center for animal healthcare.

We are seeking aVeterinary Assistant to join our Anesthesia team. Our facility, located at Clydesdale Hall, provides state-of-the-art teaching and medical services, including ambulatory services. In addition to regular check-ups and preventive health care, we feature cutting edge surgical and intensivelifesavingmedical care.

Standard responsibilities will vary based on clinic needs, but may include:
  • Timely entering of anesthesia charges.
  • Daily checking of controlled drug logs against anesthesia records to ensure accuracy of controlled substance record keeping.
  • Ordering and stocking of central supply and pharmacy items.
  • Cleaning of the anesthesia area including resetting our anesthesia stations to allow efficiency of case flow.
  • Opening and closing of operating rooms at the beginning and end of each day.
  • Stocking of our food animal anesthesia supplies.
  • Stocking of the 3 crash carts for which anesthesia is responsible to ensure they are always kept in a functional state.
  • Helping maintain our anesthesia delivery equipment (e.g., charting and scheduling CO2 absorbent changes)
  • Providing case management assistance to technicians as needed.
Shift

This is a full-time position, 40 hours a week. Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $15.00 - $15.25 per hour

Grade: GGS-004
