The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics department of Radiology is seeking a Imaging Technologists with primary duties in MRI. Perform and teach specialized MRI and research procedures utilizing complex imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during exam.
Duties Include:
- Perform and teach specialized imaging procedures utilizing MRI imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during exam. This includes independent operation with minimal physician supervision.
- Perform MRI procedures using a variety of complex imaging and patient monitoring equipment.
- Has knowledge of and applies MRI safety precautions to minimize or eliminate risks to patients, personnel, and equipment.
- Has knowledge and understanding of key Service Excellence principles for interaction with patients and staff.
- Establish rapport with patient and provide information about how the exam is performed and what is required of the patient.
- Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the public.
Percent of Time: 100%
Schedule: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM. Schedule includes rotating holidays, weekends and on call responsibilities.
Education Required
- Successful completion of two-year or other approved program by Joint Review Committee in Radiologic Technology Education is required.
Experience Requirements
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Certifications
- Current certification or eligibility for certification in diagnostic procedures by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
Desirable Qualifications
- Recent work or clinical education experience in MRI.
- MRI modality training.
- MRI certification or eligible.
- Work or clinical education experience in a Level 1 trauma center.
