Job Purpose
Conduct eligibility evaluations for Tennessee's Early Intervention System (TEIS) across Middle Tennessee. This position is specific to Montgomery, Dickson, Robertson & Cheatham counties

Essential Functions
Conduct developmental evaluations with children birth to age 3 and their families following TEIS processes and procedures and conducting the Battelle Developmental Inventory, Third Edition, Normative Update (BDI-3 NU). Work closely with the Middle Tennessee TEIS Point of Entry District offices.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Early Childhood Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Child and Family Studies (Child Development), Early Intervention, or related field. Related field means a degree in Deaf Education or Visual Disabilities, Special Education K-12, Elementary /Education, Communication Disorders and Speech Language Pathology. Social Work, nursing and psychology degrees are not considered related fields.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree or Doctorate degree in Early Childhood Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Child and Family Studies (Child Development), Early Intervention, or related field. Previous experience working with/interacting with the Tennessee Early Intervention System. Experience in early intervention, conducting norm-referenced assessments. Highly trained to reliability on the BDI-2 or BDI-3 assessment. Bilingual. Residing in needed service area: Montgomery, Dickson, Robertson or Cheatham counties.
Work Hours
Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary
Commensurate with education and experience. This is a full-time grant funded position; its continuation is contingent upon future funding.

The University offers a competitive benefits package. Benefits include the accumulation of two vacation days per month and one sick leave day per month, and thirteen (13) University holidays. Other benefits include medical and life insurance (shared cost with the university), retirement, optional 401k, and educational benefits.
