EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Full-time, exempt
SUPERVISOR: Vice President of Administration (VPA)
JOB SCHEDULE: 40-60 hours per week as needed. Schedule is flexible based on the time of year and the seasonal demands of the organization.
SALARY: Salary DOE, bonus of up to 12% of base salary based on performance relative to board-set KPI’s.
JOB SUMMARY: The Human Resources and Marketing Coordinator (HRMC) is responsible for the marketing, recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding functions. They will also assist in employee counseling and collect and provide feedback from employees to management. The HRMC will also conduct general marketing for the company using our website and social media channels, internal customer databases, sponsorships, and community outreach. Will work with outside advertising companies to promote our products through television, radio, publications, maps, travel guides, and any other acceptable other media. They will also work with vendors and ticket outlets around to state to provide information and familiarization opportunities.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge: BA/BS in business. Past job experience in sales and marketing.
- Customer-Service Focus: Must understand that customer service is a top priority and must conduct all actions with this in mind.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Must be flexible and able to produce appropriate solutions quickly, working across the organization at times. Must be able to find creative solutions to unique problems and employ a logical and organized thought process.
- Organizational Skills: Must know how to keep yourself and others organized and how to determine which tasks are the most important in each list.
- Communication Skills: Must collaborate with other managers and support personnel, management, and clients on a regular basis. Must be able to speak publicly and represent our organization within the community.
- Stamina: Must be able to endure the demands of 12-hour workdays during busy times
- Computer Literacy: Must be able to use standard business software including Word Processing programs, Excel spreadsheets, Power Point, and other necessary programs. Must have basic graphic design skills and ability to use Abode Illustrator or other similar design software. Web development and video editing experience are preferred.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: In consultation with or directed by the Vice President of Administration.
- Know, understand, and practice the objectives of the department.
- Work with the VPA to solve problems.
- Recommend the establishment of procedures as necessary to meet the objectives of the department.
- Oversees and direct all HR functions in relation to talent acquisition. Marketing of open positions, coordinating and conducting interviews, job offering, onboarding, etc.
- Conduct weekly HR meetings with management staff during recruiting season to update all managers on current HR metrics.
- Work with new hires to ensure they properly shepherded through the onboarding process, including paperwork requirements, required trainings and certifications, uniform distribution, etc.
- Work with Leadership Coordinator to schedule and conduct customer service and leadership training for all employees.
- Maintain permanent personnel files for employees regarding HR issues or counseling.
- Conduct a midseason survey and an exit interview of all seasonal employees to gain their feedback on their position and experience.
- Plan and coordinate company functions such as crew parties or team building events.
- Develop a comprehensive marketing strategy for the company.
- Maintain strong relationships with all outside advertisers and coordinate advertising efforts each year across all media platforms.
- Manage and coordinate marketing of an annual preseason ticket sale.
- Provide upkeep and fresh content and media to the website.
- Manage familiarization tours and presentations for vendors, ticket outlets and industry partners.
- Coordinate with all outside travel writers, photographers, videographers and influencers that experience our products.
- Work with the Director of Retail and IT Manager to elevate the online retail webstore guest experience
- Coordinate with the Director of Retail to manage and market the Captain Jim’s Salmon brand, including an annual holiday marketing campaign.
- Work with managers across all departments to create uniform and informative signage throughout the buildings and boats.
- Manage the physical and digital archives of the organization. Create an organized and searchable online database of photos, videos, and historical documents.
- Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
- Assist VPA with office administration functions as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
- Bonus amount determined by Board of Directors after review of past years performance.
