Summary:

This position is responsible for the Employee Wellness and Workers Compensation functions as assigned by the Employee Wellness Manager. Knowledge of Employee Wellness and Workman’s Compensation policies and procedures as well as CDC guidelines, APIC practices and principles, adult immunization guidelines and the JCAHO standards as well as state, local public health regulations. This position is responsible for the Employee Wellness and Workers Compensation functions as assigned by the Employee Wellness Manager. Education:
Bachelor's degree in nursing is required.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Current LA RN license is required. .

Experience/Skills"
Three (3) years of experience is required.
Familiarity with Federal Regulations / OSHA Regulations preferred.
Previous experience with JCAHO survey requirements preferred.
Clinical and patient care skills required.
Previous experience in a supervisory position / clinic charge nurse preferred.
Clinic experience in all areas of occupational medicine preferred.
Experience with Worker's Compensation is preferred.
Must be familiar with the CDC guidelines, APIC practices and principles, adult immunization guidelines and the JCAHO standards as well as state, local public health regulations.

Responsibilities:

1.Review and evaluate all health record documentation for hires and inform of additional information.

2.Perform QA activities as designated by Employee Wellness Manager.

3.Assist with annual Tb Skin testing program, fit testing, annual flu vaccine program and other mandatory and elective immunizations.

4.Communicate with management health record information needs.

5.Maintain confidentiality of employee health information through telephone calls, correspondence, records, typed materials and other documents by observing all HIPPA guidelines for private medical information.

6.Participates in various committees and community programs. Serve as a representative of the Employee Wellness/Workman’s compensation Department on hospital committees and task forces as assigned.

7.Prepare and submit monthly reports of current activities and projects.

8.Performs office duties as assigned including office phone coverage.

9.Teaches educational classes as assigned such as General Orientation, departmental wellness and safety topics and Quantros.

10.Attends departmental meetings as required.

11.Assist in reviewing and revising policies and procedures specific to Employee Wellness/Workman’s compensation issues.

12.Responsible for complying with and enforcing all established and departmental policies and procedures.

13.Provide discharge instructions, policy/procedure processes and education relating to the workers’ compensation and modified duty /ADA processes to the injured employee. Appropriately document all communications and transactions.Ensure employee is instructed in all areas of employee responsibility issues relating to participation in the modified duty/ ADA accommodation program.

14.Review and assess the Quantros Employee Module reports on a daily basis to ensure risk situations are identified and processed to Risk Management for follow up.

15.Follows North Oaks Health System's compliance programs and all federal and state regulatory guidelines.

16.Other duties as assigned by manager.
