Professor And Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, And Inclusion
The New York University Silver School of Social Work invites applications for an Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion [AD DEI] that will include the appointment rank of tenured Full Professor. The 9-month tenured appointment will begin September 1, 2023. The successful candidate will be a nationally recognized leader in the advancement of scientific inquiry addressing marginalization, social inclusion/exclusion, oppression, racism and inequity. They will also possess the skills needed to evolve and sustain partnerships related to DEI at the school, university and national level focused on research development, educational programming, and promoting community engagement.
Among the responsibilities of the AD DEI is helping to support NYU Silver's mission to train social workers that make both a national and global impact. They will promote NYU Silver's vision to be a premier destination for students who want to become innovative practitioners and work at the micro, mezzo, and macro levels of social work. The AD DEI will work with Faculty to ensure that the School's teaching is transformative and grounded in research with strong connections to policy and practice, ultimately leading to a pipeline of social work practitioners who fully reflect the communities and populations that they serve.
The AD DEI successful candidate will work closely with Silver's Dean, Director of DEI, and NYU's Office of Global Inclusion, Diversity, and Strategic Innovation. They will provide intellectual and strategic leadership for the School's efforts to advance DEI within the School, as well as collaborate on DEI initiatives at the university level and national level. The AD DEI will also work within the University structure to secure resources and support for Silver DEI initiatives at Washington Square, the branch campuses and Shanghai. They will also serve as a knowledgeable consultant, advocate, catalyst for change, and institutional resource for conceptualizing, implementing, and evaluating programming throughout Silver.
The successful candidate will teach in the School's academic programs (BSW, MSW, Ph.D., and/or DSW), and will be engaged in University and School service and leadership. A doctoral degree in social work or a related field is required. An MSW and experience in academic administration are preferred.

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $125,000 - $195,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
