As a member of the Enrollment Management Services organization, the Junior Systems Specialist is responsible for providing technical support to the campus community for the multiple software programs administered by Registrar's Office including Ellucian Banner, National Student Clearinghouse, Degree Works, CollegeNet 25Live Room Scheduler, and Schedule Expert Final Exam Scheduler. Advance the technology goals of the Registrar's Office by supporting the Systems Specialist. The incumbent must possess a basic understanding of the functions performed by the Registrar's Office while having the appropriate technical knowledge to translate functional needs into technical actions. This position is a Grade: 8-37.5 with an approximate salary range of $43,290-$51,960 and is subject to change based on experience, skills and qualifications

1. Support the Systems Specialist with the processing and completion of regularly performed Banner functions and jobs and assist with processes for other associated technology systems.

• Regularly runs specified Banner jobs to ensure smooth and continuing operation of Banner in support of departmental functions or processes such as grade processing, graduation, registration or class schedule.
• Assists with testing of new or upgraded software systems and specific applications; verifies validity and integrity of data in these systems after an upgrade.
• Supports completion of data requests submitted to the department by: evaluating initial data requests for FERPA compliance and communicating with requestor regarding data needs; creating formatted reports in University enterprise-wide reporting system; distributing data to end users across campus as needed.

2. Support university course and curriculum through maintenance of program changes, curriculum updates, equivalencies and articulations.

• Primary Degree Works Scribe. Build and maintain curriculum rules in Banner, including implementation of CIP code system maintenance.
• Build and maintain all Banner curriculum equivalencies as approved by the Registrar and Academic Senate.
• Support the Office of the Registrar transfer staff by helping build and maintain articulation rules in Banner.

3. First tier support for the campus community for all technology systems in the Office of the Registrar.

• Acts as liaison with Library and Technology Services (LTS) to resolve issues arising with University supported hardware or software.
• Provides consulting and/or technical support for specified software administered by the Registrar's Office.
• Complies with University security requirements, privacy regulations, and other standards, policies and procedures such as FERPA.

4. Oversee/manage day-to-day technical tasks related to the work of the Office of the Registrar.

• Create and roll all academic terms; update and manage DocuSign and Powerforms.
• Work closely with the Data Processing Coordinator focusing on Registrar-related processing tasks to ensure accurate data loads and checks are completed.
• Create and maintain technical training documentation and training videos and training videos related to all Office of the Registrar systems.

5. Work closely with other University constituents on short and long-term projects.

• Collaborates with LTS to resolve user issues; refers users to LTS support services when necessary.
• Assist in developing and offering training when needed for campus partners and other academic affairs units.

Qualifications

•High school diploma or GED is required; Associates Degree or Vocational/Technical Degree preferred

•One to three years of related work experience

•Experience with Banner is a plus

•Strong organizational, communication and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Successful completion of standard background checks including but not limited to: social security verification, education verification, national criminal background checks, motor vehicle checks, PATCH, FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearance and credit history based upon the requirements of the position
