SALARY RANGE: $364.80 Bi-weekly

JOB TYPE: Part-time, Classified

DEPARTMENT: Department of Public Works

LOCATION: Natural Gas pump station, Lockport Field Office

Nature of Job: Operates assigned drainage pump stations on an as-needed basis on all days and at all times except from the hours of 6:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Monday through Thursday (with the exception if a holiday falls on a Monday-Thursday or during a State of Emergency). Full-time Parish Public Works Department employees will operate the pump stations as part of their regular job duties between the hours of 6:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Monday through Thursday. Performs job duties on an as-needed basis. Responsible for the operation of the power-driven pumps which accelerate and transfer the rainfall runoff to designated areas so as to reduce the potential for flooding to the extent of station design capabilities.

Minimum Qualification: Less than high school education and up to one (1) year related experience and/or training

Substitution: Equivalent combination of education and training in the basic operation and maintenance of public drainage facilities and pump system operation and general maintenance

* Working knowledge of the operational hazards and associated safety precautions in the operation of a drainage pump station, preferred.

A valid driver’s license issued by a state other than Louisiana is acceptable for application; however, once an employment offer is extended for a position, an applicant will have thirty (30) days to obtain the required Louisiana license. Failure to obtain a Louisiana driver’s license may disqualify an applicant from permanent employment in any position. Maintains acceptable driving record in addition to a valid Louisiana license.

*Proof of all certifications must be provided.
