Job Summary
The successful candidate will provide supervision and strategic guidance in diversity, external partnerships and create partnerships with the local prisons to develop programs for the prison population.
Job Duties:
Responsible for strategic direction of college-wide cultural diversity, equity and inclusion including but, not limited to: BSCTC Diversity Plan, departmental budget monitoring, preparing and presenting reports; Chair College Diversity Committee; conduct surveys about diversity climate on campus and utilize community focus groups.
Collaborate and serve as a resource for college departments in diversity-related matters; work with Student Affairs recruitment team to recruit students of color.
Develop and implement trainings and programs related to diversity, equity and inclusion; Lead Under-represented Minority Student Mentor and Leadership Program.
Develop partnerships with community organizations and government agencies to create programs for student and employee recruitment of underrepresented minorities; participate in the hiring process for new hires.
Develop partnerships with local prisons to create programs for the incarcerated population.
Represent BSCTC on the KCTCS Diversity Peer Team and other diversity related matters as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Education, Human Resources or related field.
Three (3) years experience is required.
