Accounts Payable and Payroll Specialist
Floyd County Government is recruiting for an Accounts Payable and Payroll Specialist. This position is directly responsible to the Deputy County Administrator and is responsible for a variety of detailed tasks involving the preparation and maintenance of fiscal, accounts payable, employee payroll and cash receipt records. It requires a thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices, an ability to work effectively with a variety of accounting software, an aptitude for mathematical computation, and an ability to communicate effectively. A successful candidate will have a minimum of two years of related experience and a desire to contribute to a positive work environment. At least an Associate degree in accounting or a related field is expected, Bachelor's preferred.
Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Operations Manager
Floyd County Government is recruiting for an Operations Manager for our paid EMS staff. This position reports directly to the County Director of Public Safety and serves in a leadership role with the EMS staff. The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the paid EMS staff to ensure quality patient care, operational efficiency, proper staffing levels, adherence to budget requirements and EMS regulations, motivation and development of employees, and maintenance of healthy relationships with the public, county staff, and other service providers. A successful candidate will have an active ALS certification or Paramedic license and a valid Virginia drivers license. A strong understanding of EMS operations and compliance requirements, the ability to build a strong work team, and a willingness to work in partnership with county leadership is key. This is a full-time salaried position.
