Position Purpose
The Director, Parent and Supporter Services will develop a gateway presence to help parents, families and supporters of Dartmouth undergraduate students. This position will develop programs, initiatives, engagement opportunities, and communications platforms to help parents support their student's undergraduate time at Dartmouth. Inherent in this position is deep collaboration within Student Affairs and with campus partners such as the President's Office, Office of Communications, Admissions, and Family Giving and Engagement. As the primary liaison for parents and families, the Director serves as the Dartmouth contact for questions, concerns, and throughout student/family emergencies and serves as the chair of the Parent and Family Liaison Team, and as the Student Affairs representative for the planning and implementation of Family Weekend.

● Significant student affairs experience, particularly in serving families.
● Understanding of equity-related concerns affecting students and their families in higher education.
● Proven capacity to foster strong and effective relationships with families, administrators, faculty, and staff.
● Proven record of successful experience responding to individual and campus community issues and crises.
● Understanding the needs and experiences of parents and families in today's environment
● Demonstrated competency in organizing and managing complex projects and monitoring progress toward articulated goals.
● Ability to balance multiple priorities.
● Ability to communicate institutional priorities to parents and families tactfully, positively and effectively.
● Exceptional oral and written communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Experience
● 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in higher education.
Education
Bachelor's degree required.
Preferred Qualifications
Education
Relevant Master's preferred.

● Lead the Parent and Family Liaison Team.

● Respond to and triage communication from parents and families – assist with understanding and navigating resources, serve as a sounding board for concerns, advise parents and families on support for individual students.
● Respond to families at the request of the President, Provost, and Dean of the College.
● Serve as the family point of contact during times of emergency or crisis, including campus disruption, serious student injury or illness or student death.
● Partner with Communications to establish and maintain social media channels for parents and families to disseminate official and accurate Dartmouth communication and information.
● Partner with Communications to develop a web presence for families with resources, information, events, and materials to demystify the Dartmouth experience and support their child's academic journey.

● In addition to supporting all families, provide targeted communication, resources, and support focused on first-generation, international, and low-income student families.
