JOB DESCRIPTIONS & QUALIFICATIONS
PRESCHOOL TEACHER
Under the supervision of the Education Specialist, administers a program of early childhood education that is developmentally, linguistically & culturally appropriate; meets the individual & holistic needs of preschool aged children; plans and implements learning experiences that ensure effective curriculum implementation and use of assessment to help promote children’s developmental progression; and works closely with parents and families to ensure they are intentionally included in the planning and execution of their child’s education. Works as a team member with other staff, parents, and volunteers.
Preschool Teacher and Qualifications: Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field; with experience in teaching preschool-age children. Bilingual English-Spanish preferred.
INFANT TODDLER TEACHER
Under the supervision of the Education Specialist, administers a program of early childhood education that is developmentally, linguistically & culturally appropriate; meets the individual & holistic needs of infants and toddlers; plans and implements learning experiences that ensure effective curriculum implementation and use of assessment to help promote children’s developmental progression; and works closely with parents and families to ensure they are intentionally included in the planning & execution of their child’s education. Works as a team member with other staff, parents, and volunteers.
Infant Toddler Qualifications: Child Development Associate (CDA) or comparable credential, with a focus on infant and toddler development. Bilingual English-Spanish preferred.

Centro de la Familia is a nonprofit organization that promotes healthy and engaged communities by advocating for children’s educational success. Working with children and families since 1975, Centro has excelled at managing early outreach and educational programs among under-served communities in both urban and rural areas.
Today, Centro operates five rural Head Start centers and nine Head Start childcare partnerships as well as a portfolio of outcome-based programs for elementary, middle and high school students, and programs for adults that provide the tools and skills necessary for self-sufficiency.
