Job Description Summary:
To implement, manage, document, support, and evaluate integrated instructional development projects of assigned area, training and development, and related support for faculty and staff initiatives in the areas of instructional design, teaching strategies, assessment, instructional technology applications, evaluation, and related strategic planning.

Job Description:

Description of Duties and Tasks

1) Supervises, trains, coaches, directs, and coordinates personnel activities while adhering to organizational human resource policies and procedures as well as related employment laws. Recommends hire and termination personnel actions for positions.
2) Manages the instructional design function including project management, faculty support, and application of instructional course design and development of assigned area.
3) Conducts evaluation of instructional development projects in meeting educational objectives and goals. Prepares summaries and reports.
4) Recommends changes to processes, policies, and metrics to facilitate the improvement of instructional design services and performance.
5) Recommends and implements changes to work plans, goals, and objectives that are focused on: providing efficient service and support for all faculty; managing resources; maintaining quality assurance including the development of surveys, needs assessments, and satisfaction evaluations; preparing reports on survey outcomes, program attendance, and evaluations; and making appropriate revisions based on data collected.
6) Ensures project information, files, and records are accurate and current. Analyzes data collected to determine necessary revisions.
7) Researches and makes recommendations on educational best practices, instructional resources, instructional technologies, and multimedia hardware/software to support digital teaching and learning.
8) Leads instructional design meetings of assigned area and facilitates group sessions for various purposes that involve planning and application ensuring good instructional design, and appropriate as well as meaningful application for instructional projects success.
9) Recommends resources including staffing recommendations for the success of students and the department's efforts that contribute to the development of the Academic Master Plan, budget recommendations, internal department evaluation, and collection of data including recommendations of faculty, students, and staff.
10) Maintains and prioritizes inventory of current, relative professional development offerings for staff and faculty including development opportunities which have been, or will be, developed by Instructional Design staff as well as a schedule for requested departmental specific training.
11) Consults with faculty on instructional design, strategies, and learning objectives of assigned area; assists in the development of course materials, assessment techniques, appropriate integration of instructional technologies, and best practices.
12) Designs, develops, and delivers workshops and training to faculty in the use of instructional technologies and digital education best practices; provides ongoing faculty training and support in technology tools and educational applications.

Required Work Experience

* Three years related work experience including one year supervisory experience.
* Completion of the ACC Supervisor Certificate Series Program will satisfy the supervisory experience required for this position.

Required Education

* Master's degree.

Physical Requirements

* Work is performed in a standard office or similar environment.
* Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
* Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.

Safety

* Supervise safe operation of unit. Facilitate safety inspections. Take reasonable and prudent actions to eliminate identified hazards. Ensure employees receive appropriate safety training and foster a workplace safety culture.

Salary Range

$85,239 - $106,548
