Senior Operations Manager
Arrowhead Engineered Products is OPENING a new distribution facility in Portland, TN
Projected opening date: July 2023
The Senior Operations Manager takes an active leadership role in the motivation and development of the supervisor team and support in planning and driving site/DC execution and performance. Responsible for the overall output, quality, condition, and capability of the operations including receiving, storage and shipping of products to meet the customer needs. This position oversees processes, equipment, documentation, and coaches and leads employees to establish a culture of continuous improvement.
Duties:
- Lead, mentor, support and motivate Supervisor team to effectively oversee the daily routines of warehouse associates.
- Supervisory responsibilities include, but are not limited to recommending hiring, coaching, skills development, recognition and rewards, staff productivity and performance management to include disciplinary actions up to and including terminations.
- Initiates positive methods of driving Supervisor team's excellence through follow up, providing consistent and fair feedback on performance.
- Coach Supervisor teams in achievement of existing goals in cost, quality, safety, service, and problem solving.
- Communicate and support Supervisor team for the implementation and output of cost management programs.
- Drive continuous improvement with fundamental understanding of change management.
- Solves challenges through data analysis, innovation, and process optimization.
- Responsible for ensuring necessary supplies are on hand to operate the warehouse efficiently.
- Leads retention initiatives to decrease employee turnover
- Ensures the associates ability to safely operate material handling equipment.
- Creates and cultivates a safe work environment by identifying safety opportunities.
- Arranges maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment.
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations Management and/or equivalent work experience. (Preferred)
- 3+ years of warehouse operations experience.
- 5+ years supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite, ERP systems.
- Lean six sigma Yellow Belt certification required.
- Lean six sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
- Effective coaching facilitation, presentation, team building and communication skills.
- Demonstrated people and leadership skills including conflict resolution, problem solving and performance management.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk on level surfaces for a prolonged period. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms above should height and below the waist. The employee must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. 70% of the day and up to 65 lbs. 30% of the day.
